Fill it up
Vegetables, prawns, mushrooms, cut chicken, whatever was falling through before. No skewers to thread, no foil to fold, no oil required. Tip it in and twist the lid shut.
The beech handle unscrews by hand in about ten seconds, no tools. Take it off, close the lid, and grill or smoke as usual.
The steel body handles closed lid heat up to 500 °C. Use the hook to lift the basket back out, then screw the handle on to carry it to the table. The handle is heat resistant too, so with the lid open you can simply leave it on.
The bars on your grate sit 1 to 2 cm apart. Anything smaller than a steak goes straight into the coals: shrimp, asparagus, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cut chicken. Foil looks like the fix, but it traps the moisture and steams the food, and it blocks the smoke. You end up with soft vegetables that taste like they came out of a pan.
This is a cylinder of tightly woven 304 stainless steel. Fine enough that nothing slips out, open enough that flame and smoke go right through. Close the lid, roll it a quarter turn every few minutes, and everything inside turns at the same time.
What goes in it: asparagus, courgette, peppers, onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, corn, prawns, cut chicken, halloumi, diced potatoes, tofu. Whole steaks and full racks still belong straight on the bars.
If the basket ever fails under normal grilling, we replace it. No receipt hunt, no form. You reply to your order email.
And if it is simply not for you, you have 90 days to say so, grilled with or not.

The basket does the part you were doing badly with tongs.

Vegetables, prawns, mushrooms, cut chicken, whatever was falling through before. No skewers to thread, no foil to fold, no oil required. Tip it in and twist the lid shut.

Put it straight on the grate. Gas, charcoal or pellet, the flame comes through the mesh. Every few minutes you roll it a quarter turn with the handle and the whole load turns at once.

Lift the lid with the hook, tip the basket over the board and everything comes out at the same colour. You are back with your guests instead of stood over the heat.
Four things that separate a basket you keep from one that dents and rusts by August.
Twist lock, no clips and no tools. You open it, load it, turn it a few degrees and it is locked. It has to hold, because the whole point is rolling it over live flame.
Tight enough that a cherry tomato and a prawn stay in. Open enough that smoke, heat and flame reach the food from every side. Coarser mesh loses the small stuff, finer mesh turns the basket into a steamer.
Screwed on by hand, unscrewed by hand. On for rolling, off to close the grill lid or to put the basket in the dishwasher. The hook lifts the lid and the fork gets the food out, both are in the box.
The same steel used in professional kitchen gear. Up to 500 °C with no warping, no rust, no coating to flake off into your food. This is the part that decides whether you still own it in five years.

No seasoning, no scrubbing, no special storage. From the grate to the drawer, and back out next weekend.

"I had stopped putting asparagus and prawns on the barbecue because half of it ended up in the charcoal. First cook with the basket, nothing lost, and the grill marks were better than anything I got on the grate. It does the small stuff I had given up on."
"I used to put a cast iron pan on the grill, but then the food tasted exactly like cooking indoors and I could not see the point of lighting the thing. The mesh actually lets the smoke in. The pan stays in the kitchen now."
"Half an hour with tongs, flipping every bit of courgette and chicken so it cooked on both sides. Now it is a quarter turn every three minutes and the whole load turns together. I am back at the table with everyone else."
"Bought it for my husband, who owns every barbecue gadget ever made and uses none of them. This one comes out every weekend. That is the review."
"I had been using mats, which I now realise smother the whole thing. This sits over the flame and does the opposite. The difference in taste is not subtle."
Foil steams the food and shuts the smoke out. A mat does the same thing and warps by August. The basket is the only one that keeps the small stuff off the coals while leaving the flame a way in.

It lets you roll the basket without putting your hand near 400 °C steel. That is the whole mechanism: a quarter turn every few minutes and the entire load turns at once, instead of you flipping twenty pieces with tongs. It screws off when you are not using it.
Yes. The beech handle unscrews by hand in about ten seconds, no tools. Take it off, close the lid, grill or smoke as usual.
The steel basket itself handles closed lid heat up to 500 °C. Use the hook to lift it off, then screw the handle back on to carry it to the table. The handle is heat resistant too, so with the lid open you can just leave it on.
Dishwasher, handle off. Or thirty seconds under hot water. 304 steel does not rust, does not discolour and does not hold on to yesterday’s garlic.
No, and that is the reason the basket exists. The weave is open on every side, so flame, heat and smoke pass straight through. You get the same char and the same smoke you get grilling directly on the bars, minus the losses.
Gas, charcoal, pellet, ceramic and smokers. If you have a flat grate, it sits on it. The mesh cylinder is 20 cm tall and 9 cm across, 35 cm once the handle is screwed on, so it fits a small balcony barbecue as well as a full size grill.
304 grade stainless steel, the same grade used in professional kitchen equipment, with a beech wood handle. The whole thing weighs 239 g. No non stick coating, because coatings are what fail first at grill temperatures.
It is the one people actually use. If someone in your house owns a drawer of barbecue gadgets and touches none of them, this is the one that comes out every weekend, because it removes a job rather than adding one.
If the basket fails under normal grilling, we replace it. And separately, you have 90 days to return it for a refund if it is simply not for you, grilled with or not.
We sell one basket and we stand behind it.
